Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Get Canada Sim (“Get Canada Sim”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit our website at getcanadasim.com (the “Website”), place an order for a Canadian SIM or eSIM plan, or apply to our partner program. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.
Get Canada Sim is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and also operates a service and support office in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Because our Services are aimed at people travelling to Canada, we aim to handle your personal information consistently with recognized privacy principles, including, for customers connecting with us from Canada, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where it applies.
1. Information we collect
To verify your identity and deliver a working Canadian number, we collect:
- Contact & order details, your name, email address, WhatsApp/phone number, arrival date, and chosen plan.
- Identity documents, a photo or PDF of your passport, and, where relevant, a study permit, work permit, or permanent residence confirmation, uploaded when you order.
- Delivery details, a delivery address when you choose physical SIM delivery.
- Referral information, a partner reference or promo code, if you were referred by one of our partners.
- Partner application details, business name, contact details, and, for approved partners, payout details (bank name, account holder name, and account number) needed to pay commissions.
- Communications, anything you tell us through the contact form, email, or WhatsApp when you reach out for support.
We do not currently collect payment card information through the Website: no payment is taken when you submit an order, and payment is completed with you directly after your documents and plan are confirmed. If we later add online payment processing, it will be handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor and this Policy will be updated to describe it before that happens.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, through our order form, contact form, and partner application, and, for approved partners, through the partner portal. We may also receive information from a travel agency, immigration consultant, education agent, or retailer who refers you to us as one of our partners.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- verify your identity and eligibility, as Canadian carriers require before activating a mobile number;
- process your order, activate your Canadian number, and deliver your eSIM or physical SIM;
- provide customer support before and after your arrival, in the language you contact us in;
- calculate and pay commissions to approved partners, and track referral attribution;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate or spam submissions;
- send you order-related communications, such as confirmation and activation emails; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including those imposed by our carrier partners.
4. Consent & marketing communications
By submitting an order, contact form, or partner application, you consent to us collecting and using your information as described in this Policy, and to us contacting you by email, phone, SMS, or WhatsApp about that order or application. Where we contact you about other Get Canada Sim plans or offers, it is with your consent, and every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting an order already placed; we may still need to contact you for service-related matters, such as activation or support, that aren't optional marketing.
5. Document storage & security
Identity documents are uploaded over an encrypted connection and stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket, not a public folder or CDN. Only authorized Get Canada Sim staff who need to verify your order can access them, generally through short-lived, time-limited links rather than permanent public URLs. We keep documents only as long as needed to verify your order and meet our legal and carrier obligations, after which they are securely deleted; you can ask us to delete your documents sooner once verification is complete, subject to Section 8.
6. Sharing & disclosure
We disclose personal information only where it's needed to deliver the Services or where the law requires it:
- Carrier partners (currently Rogers, Fido, and chatr), to activate and operate your Canadian number.
- Service providers we rely on to run the Website, such as our hosting, database, and email-delivery providers, bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.
- Referring partners, limited order status information, so an approved partner can see the referrals they're credited for and their commission status.
- Legal & safety, where required by law, court order, or lawful request from a government or law-enforcement authority, or where necessary to investigate fraud or protect the security of our network or Website.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your identity documents with anyone beyond what this section describes.
7. Cookies & analytics
The Website uses a small number of essential, first-party cookies to keep you signed in to the partner portal or admin area and to remember a just-placed order while you view your confirmation page. These are short-lived and functional.
We also use the following third-party analytics and advertising services:
- Google Analytics (GA4), to understand aggregate website traffic and user behaviour. GA4 may set cookies and collect anonymised interaction data.
- Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool we use for lightweight page-view, performance, anonymous product-interaction statistics, heatmaps, and session replays. Replays run only on public informational pages, keep public page text visible, mask all input values, and exclude forms. They never run on order, confirmation, contact, partner application, order tracking, partner portal, or admin pages, and Umami deletes replay data after 30 days. We do not intentionally send names, contact details, document information, order numbers, or partner referral values to Umami. Umami does not use cookies.
- Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights, to monitor site performance and page load times. These do not build an advertising profile of you.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook), an advertising and remarketing tag we use to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform, and to show ads to people who have visited the Website. It sets the first-party
_fbpcookie and reports page views and the pages you visited to Meta, which may match that activity to your Facebook or Instagram account and use it to build advertising audiences. This is the one service listed here that is used for advertising rather than measurement alone.
Google's analytics cookies are subject to Google's privacy policy for partner sites, and Meta's handling of pixel data is subject to Meta's Privacy Policy. You can review and limit how Meta uses this activity in your Meta ad preferences.
When you first visit the Website, non-essential (analytics and advertising) cookies are blocked until you give consent through our cookie banner, the Meta Pixel starts with consent revoked and sends nothing to Meta unless you accept. If you choose “Necessary only”, no analytics or advertising data is sent. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site. One exception: if you browse with JavaScript disabled, a single no-script tracking image loads, because a plain image cannot be gated by the banner.
8. Data retention & international transfers
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this Policy, to service an active plan, resolve support requests, meet our legal and carrier obligations, and defend against fraud, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified. Your information may be stored or processed in Bangladesh, Canada, or other countries where our hosting and service providers operate, subject to contractual safeguards with those providers; the law of the country where your information is located may apply to it while it is there.
9. Your rights & how to make a request
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask what we've collected and why. Contact us using the details in Section 11 and we'll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request, and we may not be able to delete information we're required to keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons. If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, for example, on an order or billing record, let us know and we'll correct it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, carriers, or legal obligations change. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and post the revised policy here. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let active customers know directly.
